Last Day To Help Us Name Our Frames

Your chance for a little fame and fortune. When we only had one fixed gear frame model, things were easy. It was our only baby. Having the only nameless frame around was OK. Now we have two models and things aren't as easy. And next year we might have three models, who knows?

We were thinking about names since we knew we were producing our Alloy Track Frame, but never got around to doing anything. To help out with a name, you must go to our FaceBook fan page. Read the guidelines under "Discussions". Submit your ideas there, too. We know you guys are creative. Let's see just how much. Best 5 entries, get Pake schwag. (Yes, you have to be signed into Facebook to participate.) Thanks for helping us out!

Super Market Street Sweeps 2010 is History

Eric and his son Sprocket moved 541 lbs of food, which helped them
win our Pake frame set. (Sprocket was also the youngest participant
in the race.

This weekend was the SMSW. The event was able to bring in 171 racers (even with some rain and threat of showers!) for 6,920 pounds of food! (Benefits the SF Food Bank.)

They also raised an additional $4,877 that went straight to the San Francisco Food Bank through our new fundraising category (http://www.firstgiving.com/sffoodbank/event/smsw).

This is a great event for cargo and touring bikes as well as speedy bikes as well. And the schwag pile is usually high because of the great organizers and the charity component.

More pix here and here.

Pake C'Mute in and on Bicycle Times!

The cover of the latest issue of Bicycle Times (artist: Evette Gabriel): Check out the bike bringing in winter, its a Pake C'Mute! We just got this issue today and were pretty psyched to see this, we had no idea! What we did know is that a C'Mute frame and fork is up for grabs in their sweepstakes. Just in time to be built up and outfitted for Father Winter...

"Dion Rides Bikes" Review of the C'Mute Frame

Dion reviews our C'Mute frame on his blog. For the short attention span afflicted his conclusion is below. Full review here.

The Pake C'Mute is a wonderful idea. Part road, part commuter, part cyclocross bike, part mountain bike - you can truly make it into whatever you want. I feel this frame will be a dependable life-long friend. Its ageless design will never let you down, no matter how advance frame design becomes.

I foresee the C'Mute evolving into many forms and wearing many hats throughout its life with me. While parts and old technology are replaced, the platform will live on forever.

RMX Stem

New stem inspired by the vintage Nitto MT-16 BMX stem. We have the normal shorty lengths, plus a 100mm if someone has an unusual need for that.

Pake Alloy Frame Sets are Here

They took a little longer than we expected, but they are finally here.
Shops can order from our distributor Merry Sales starting in a couple of days if you ain't still stuck at Interbike. To our awesome customers who have been waiting: Please give your shops some time to get these.

We love the simple efficient round oversized tubes. It's just classic.
The hourglass headtube takes a 1-1/8" internal headset (Cane Creek IS type)
Track ends have replaceable steel plates. Includes a light but durable alloy crown carbon fork.

This thing is about speed, plain and simple. Plan on getting one soon.

Pake C'Mute "The Touring Bike"

Many thanks to Muuqi up in Seattle for sending us a great write-up he did about his C'Mute in the Life(Cycles) blog he writes. He built it up as pretty nice touring bike..that C'Mute is one versatile machine!! With its horizontal dropouts, the second rack eyelet sit pretty far back and give you better pannier-heel clearance than almost every cyclocross-styled do-all frame out there. (probably close to 450mm from the BB)

Legendary Freestyler at Bumstead

Garrison at Bumstead Bikes in Ontario, Ca sent us this pic. Freestyle rap artist, MC Supernatural was eying some of the complete Pake track build they had on the floor. Supernat ended up customizing a red Pake track frame into a hip commuter.
On August 5, 2006, Supernatural freestyle for over 9 hours whilst hosting the Rock The Bells festival in San Bernadino, Ca. The jaw-dropping rap placed him into the Guiness Book of World Records.

Lord of Griffith II Alley Cat

Looking for an epic alley cat to test those summer legs. This one promises challenging climbs and a Pake aluminum frame set and Burro bag to the winner. The winner won't be able to pick up the alloy frame with carbon fork on the spot, but it will be sent to the winner after they come in early September (yes they've been delayed a bit) and we get the winner's size.

2pm register, 3pm race
Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. 1st girl

No course map, this year, just be ready to climb, a lot.
After party/ Award ceremony

The Ronin Gallery 5pm
4210 Santa Monica Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90029

We will group ride from the end of the race, to the Gallery. Where, Pabst will be suppling beer, and hopefully a Taco truck will be suppling eats. Awards and fun to go hand in hand. Local talent, throwing down some grooves as well.
More deets to follow.

Even if you don't race, what better way to spend a Sunday?
Tell your friends, come out and cheer these cyclist's on as they do battle with the Mountian... Then come party with their corpses after.

Pedal Rev's genius C'Mute build

Pedal Revolution in SF built this up last month, we took it for a spin around the Mission and it was a dream to ride. It deftly maneuvered the Mission chaos with the grace of [reader's choice].
We loved the stitched white grips (comfy), white housing, white platform pedals and the black and white spacer scheme. And the fat 700c Conti's make easy work of any pothole. Go out and get one!!!

New Web Site Soft Launch

Friday, 5/12/10, 3:00pm:
We are just about ready to launch a fresh new web site design.
Say goodbye to the one we threw together in a day nearly 5 years ago with only one product on it. Back then we had no idea if Pake really had a future, but it's been a good ride so far.

Our website may experience interruption this weekend while we switch over to the new one.
Let us know if you see any errors we need to fix. Have a nice weekend!

New Track Frames In Stores Now

Our 2010 models started getting to some shops a couple of weeks ago.
Thanks to shops like Superb (Boston), Yojimbo's (Chicago), Drif (L.A.) and Bell's (Philly) for stepping up early to stock a fair selection of frames and forks, even though we haven't launched our new website.

Just some of the stock frame and fork colors available this year.

Thanks to the guys at Iminusd for helping us with some of these
pictures. Thank you Bruce for building the bikes up. The chrome
bar is a prototype we are working on.

First Pictures of our 2010 Colors

We said we'd post shots of the new frames as soon as we could. I tell you while shooting these, we were like getting damn anxious. We just want to start building them up. Seeing what color combos we wanted to try first.

Shops that have pre-ordered should be getting them in a couple of weeks. If your LBS, is clueless, please educate them. We'd appreciate it and they'll appreciate it.

Keep checking the blog for updates. We are in the middle of a website re-design, so we won't be updating the current site with new product. We are stoked with how the new site is coming together...we will be featuring photographs from talented Pake owners as well as the incredible Matt Lingo.

You know the drill...Click for larger pics....

All decals are all removable (even the Tange CrMo ones), but we include decal kits with each frame in case you don't want to remove them... just wanna swap to something different...or if you don't like any of our colors (for crying out loud) and want to repaint....you'll have extra decals.

Lauren and Brie and their Pakes

Lauren and her murdered out Pake.

Urban Fixed Gear Online did this little photoshoot with a friend Lauren back in January. We are a little late in re-posting, but here it is. Lauren got her Pake and Aerospokes from 66fixed in St. Petersberg. Follow the link for the rest of the pictures (A couple are NSFW.)

UPDATE: I took some time to read the comments on the Lauren post. One guy mentioned FixFixFix which we never heard about till today, because we don't go looking for pin-up girls on the internet (never, ever) even if they ride bikes. But in the interest of keeping on top of bike culture, we checked it out a lunch break.

Lo and behold, right there on the front page we have another lady posing with her Pake.

Hey Brie: We noticed those sick and sexy bars. Tell us a little more about them and we'll send you one of our t-shirts. But please don't supply your home address, because our guy in receiving is kind of 'stalkery' and might end up standing outside your window on some night if you do that. A work address or a BF's would be safer.

Former courier Brie posing for theFixFixFix.

If you have decent pictures with you and your Pake, we'd love to see them on the Pake Builds Pool on Flickr. No mini-dresses or required.
